Socioemotional skills are required of us daily in various circumstances, involved in processes related to learning, being, and interacting, necessitating the stimulation and development of these resources throughout our lives. This experience report aims to present an intervention conducted with a group of educators from the Public Education Network in the municipality of Taquara/RS, in the Vale do Paranhana region. The discussion circle, guided by active listening and collective construction, addressed the analogy of socioemotional development as a toolbox for managing emotions, setting life goals, and establishing healthy relationships. According to the participants, the space fostered reception and reflection, allowing them to recognize that they were already using some of these tools in their daily school practices, even if intuitively. Through the intervention, educators were able to name, validate, and acknowledge the intentionality of these skills, increasing their awareness of the role they play in caring for themselves and others. It is evident that, among the demands of the educational process, beyond mastery of content and teaching methods, educating also requires emotional balance, attentive observation, empathetic listening, and resilience to deal with adverse contexts, multiple demands, and complex realities. Educators reported feeling empowered, more sensitive to their own emotions, and more attentive to the emotional needs of the school environment. It is concluded that psychosocial interventions based on strengthening bonds and valuing individuals in their contexts can act as a strategic element for Regional Development, by promoting listening, dialogue, and empowerment within and of the community, thereby expanding possibilities for social transformation.
