Interfaces between Psychology, Education and Health in promoting quality of life, narratives from Mozambican educational psychologists

This article analyzes the interrelationship between Psychology, Education, and Health in promoting quality of life. It is a qualitative research study combined with content analysis from the perspective of Bardin (2011) and Saldaña (2013). Two retired psychopedagogues, with at least a bachelor's degree and more than 30 years of experience in Education, were interviewed. The participants were introduced and signed an informed consent form before answering the questions. The interview results point to the need to maintain a spirit of cooperation and interrelation between Psychology, Education, and Health in promoting quality of life and social well-being. Considering that each area focuses on the well-being of the individual, a cooperative approach in disease prevention and health promotion constitutes a more assertive and cost-effective strategy. It is therefore suggested that health intervention entities (governmental and private) should adopt an interactionist approach and work at the interface between Psychology, Education and Health, with a view to promoting individual and social health and well-being.
