  • Elis Regina Costa Universidade Federal de Goias - Regional Catalão

Resumen

The objective of the present study was to investigate the motivation of academics of the second period of the zootechnical course of a Higher Education Institution. The participants were 28 students of the Animal Science course of a Public Higher Education Institution of the interior of Goiás, with ages ranging from 17 to 30 years, 10 (35.7%) and 18 (64.3%) female and male respectively. We used the Motivation to Learn Assessment Scale of University students and two open questions about motivation in the referred course. No significant relationships were observed between the variables gender, course option and reprobation in some discipline among themselves and with age and motivation scale. The data of the open questions pointed the faculty as bearer of aspects that discourage the participants to attend Zootecnia. Suggestions for future research are pointed out.
